Very first walk jack Russell puppy
Today Rosie went for her very first walk outside our garden.
She did very well, not pulling on her lead.
She has small problems which shall vanish through training also age.
She is after all still a little puppy.
Socializing her to noises which she has only heard from afar.
She was frightened by the close car engines also hedge trimmers.
Other than this she still walked very well with a little coaxing.
She tries to each stones and grass or weeds.
I shall have to use a muzzel when outside to stop this.
It is to dangerous to allow her to swallow stones.
Her toilet training is coming along, she managed to do business outside twice today.
Now when it happens on training pad she stands and waits for all her praises.
When it doesn't happen like it does outside, she walks away with her tail between her legs.
She has settled into a routine.
Mornings begin at 7am with business outside or indoors.
Then she goes back to bed to sleep until 8am.
This is when she spends a little time out in the morning sunshine in the garden.
I sit enjoying the sunshine too.
9am we both have breakfast.
By 10.30am she is back outside to do business then by 11am she sleeps until 12.30pm.
Lunchtime for her consists of having it out in the garden , from my belt pouch.
I spend one hour training her to walk on her lead.
Then we finish her mealtime with playing with her toys.
By 2pm she sleeps until 3pm
Then we go for a walk down too end of our street where there is lots of grass.
Our walk takes 20mins slowly , her taking everything in.
Making our way back home , them moment her little paws walk through her familiar garden her little tail begins to wag then she relaxes.
She once again plays with her toys then goes for a nap 4pm too 5pm.
Her evening meal last of the day is at 6pm which takes her until. 6.30pm to finally give up eating more.
I sit on the floor with her and we have a tug of war using her favourite squeaky toy.
This lasts for hour.
Then by 7.30pm she wants up on my lap to snuggle to get cozy for her bed.
She falls asleep by 8pm then goes too her bed.
She wakens during night if she hears me going too bathroom if not she sleeps all night.
If I have wakened her she goes business on training pad then she goes by herself back into her bed until 7am for her day to start all over again.
It was so nice to see her so happy to be back to her home.
She looked so tiny and so vulnerable out from her garden.
Her pads on her paws are still very tender with not walking far.
When she stopped walking I would bend down in front of her with a treat so she would walk towards me.
I often hated when I would see people allow small children to take a puppy a walk and they would drag the puppy to walk,
this I cannot tolerate.
Rosie is booked in for a daily walk set up for next year to get her use to other people, to reach our goal of half day at kennels then full day then build it up to overnight stay.
The longest I shall leave her is 4 days.
I have my list ready , I shall begin to check out each kennel owners environment to see if Rosie shall fit in.
When you truly care for your pet you want the best you can provide to keep them safe.
Annie.
