Lets talk about puppy panic
Talk about panic omg.
My miniature jack Russell puppy is so tiny she gets into the smallest places.
Tonight she managed to squeeze herself in between the bookcase and fireplace.
I never have fire on thank goodness.
She tried to turn to get herself back out bringing the bookcase shelve with her, thus trapping her leg.
I tried so hard to free her.
I could not so as I have a panic disorder that is what I did.
My scream is like psycho film, its so loud it stopped my puppy wriggling to get out.
I screamed on my husband who was upstairs resting.
He came running downstairs his heart pounding hearing my screams.
You think he be use to them by now.
For I have had many encounters with panic situations one being attacked by 4 large dogs who ripped my beautiful late cocker spaniel Carrie like a rabbit.
I screamed that day too.
My husband managed to free our puppy from her ordeal.
She had stopped squealing on hearing mine.
So guess my scream helped her.
He got her loose, she is reluctant to.go back to the area.
We have removed a shelf and put a soft cushion in its place where she can go and snuggle if she likes.
They are so vulnerable you have to be on top of your game puppy watching especially a miniature puppy.
She shall grow to 13inch high fully grown.
For now she is 5inches.
Keeping the house puppy zone is harder than child zone.
Her teeth are very sharp she knaws on teething rings.
She is very clever for 10wks.
She wakens once during night then goes back to snuggle in her bed until morning.
It did take me 3 sleepless nights to train her to do so.
Worth it in the end.
I have also began to move her bed away from my own downstairs for now.
She can no longer see me when she goes to her bed.
When she finds me during night I ignore her to see what she does.
She goes too her own bed.
I am gradually closing her crate door, incase one day she may have to go into kennels if I am in hospital and no one is around to look after her.
It is half closed for now.
I shall never leave it closed incase of a fire in the house.
She takes a zoomie every night just before bed.
I am teaching her to walk with her harness and lead.
She is getting the hang of it.
She shall get her first walk outside garden once she is bigger.
The things you need to prepare for such a small puppy are amazing.
Got a new garden fence put in place to contain her to top of garden keep her away from eating stones.
The tiniest stone crushed could break her teeth.
Its very exhausting to do but a challenge.
I love training her the panic part is me.
That won't change unfortunately.
I now today have a headache and sore throat.
Puppy is fast asleep until around 3am.
Then she gets a little cuddle then back to bed.
Phew.
Annie.
